Roger F. Adams, Sr., 90, of Cambridge passed away on Friday, June 7, 2024 at his home with his loving family by his side. He was born on January 23, 1934 in Cambridge and was a son of the late Claude Washington Adams and Anna Cannon Adams.
Mr. Adams graduated from Cambridge High School class of 1952. On October 21, 1955, he married the former Betty Tieder who passed away on March 2, 1999. Mr. Adams farmed with his wife and three sons, and he also had a lime spreading business. During the off season from farming, Mr. Adams worked at the Port of Cambridge. He enjoyed family, farming, hunting and anything to do with his wife. Mr. Adams was a member of the Bucktown Church where he served on the church board, Cambridge ELKS, and Dorchester County Forestry Board.
He is survived by two sons J. Toby Adams and Mark D. Adams and companion Stacy Barnette both of Cambridge, six grandchildren Katelyn Adams Lust and husband Jon, Kelsey Adams and fiancée Caleb Walker, Eric Stanley, Carson Adams, Lanai Etchison and husband Adam and Logan Adams, 2 great grandchildren Aiden and Evan Etchison, a brother in law Reginald Murphy and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and his wife, Mr. Adams is preceded in death by a son Roger Fountain Adams, Jr., two sisters Ruth Ann LeCompte and Mildred Murphy.
Per Mr. Adams request, services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Baywater Animal Rescue, 4930 Bucktown Road, Cambridge, MD 21613, Bucktown Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Wendy Lewis Weber, 4159 Bestpitch Ferry Road, Cambridge, MD 21613 or to the Linkwood Salem Volunteer Fire Company, P.O. Box 66, Linkwood, MD 21835. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
