Stephanie Ladd Meredith

August 17, 1982 — July 15, 2018

Stephanie Meredith, 35, passed away on Sunday, July 15, 2018 after a boating accident which occurred on Friday, July 13, 2018.  We are grateful that her passing occurred while doing what she loved, with the person she loved- sailing on the river.  Stephanie’s boyfriend, Peter Cornwell introduced her to the love of being on the water- with no apprehension; Stephanie quickly decided to partake in such adventures.  The last year and a half of Stephanie’s life was nothing but pure joy.  She was a big part of the recovery community here in Easton where she recently celebrated 18 months clean and was an active community advocate for those in recovery.  Stephanie found her love of Christ and an amazing connection with God when she was introduced to her family at Christ Church Easton.  Her life was transformed simply due to her spiritual journey of which she flourished.  Stephanie was a Christian whom led the way for so many others, an amazing light beaming with the love of Christ and a singer of praise music on Saturdays with the Alive at Five band, all of which brought her so much joy.  Stephanie’s other passion was teaching and being around children- she taught 1st grade at Hurlock Elementary for several years.  At the time of her passing she was employed by Choptank Community Health Systems and had the pleasure of being around children there as well, working in the Easton Pediatrics office.

Stephanie is survived by her parents Allan L. Meredith and Mollye Merritt Meredith of Cambridge, her twin sister Tawney Giles (Bruce Strazza) of Easton, her God-father Matthew King of Cambridge, her brother Sean Holloway of Quantico, her boyfriend Peter Cornwell of Easton, and her nephew Ethan Giles- along with many other family, friends and brothers and sisters in Christ.

A funeral service will be held this Saturday, July 21, 2018 at Christ Church’s “Alive at Five” service at 5 o’clock in the evening, 111 S. Harrison Street, Easton, MD 21601. Please no flowers. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the SLM Recovery Fund through the Addictions Ministry at Christ Church- which will help to aid others in recovery within our community with the purpose of continuing Stephanie’s ministry.  Her true passion was not only her love of Christ but also helping others in recovery to find the serenity that she was so grateful to have found. Please make checks payable to Christ Church, 111 S. Harrison Street, Easton, MD 21601. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A., in Cambridge.
