Wayne F. Castle

Wayne F. Castle passed away on June 6, 2025 at the age of 86. He was born on August 6, 1938 in Huntington, West Virginia to Edna Cook Castle and Wayne F. Castle, Sr. He grew up in Charleston, West Virginia and graduated from Morris Harvey College in Charleston. He met his wife Fay in college and they married on October 8, 1960.

He is survived by his wife Fay Pliescott Castle and his children Michelle Cindy Mitchell (Dennis), Michael (Kim) and Matthew. He has five grandchildren; Chris Mitchell (Cierra), David Mitchell (Sarah), Mike Castle, Dani Planter (Del) and Joshua Castle. He also has five great grandchildren; Austin, Andrew, Will, Etta, and Theo Mitchell. He is preceded in death by an infant daughter.

Wayne moved his family to Dorchester County in 1967. While living in Dorchester County he taught high school, worked at Western Printing and was a distributor of the Washington Post. He attended Our Shepherd Lutheran Church and was a member of the Jaycees as well as a past president. In 2009, he and Fay retired to Wadesboro, North Carolina for twelve years and then returned home to Dorchester County.

A private graveside service will be held for family.
