Wendy K. Rue, 69, of Cambridge passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2025 at Compass Hospice in Centreville, MD. She was born in Cambridge on September 18, 1955 and was daughter of the late James J. and Frances Turner Middleton.
Mrs. Rue graduated from Cambridge High School class of 1973 and graduated from Chowan College class of 1975. On June 8, 1980 she married Woodrow Wilson Rue II. Wendy had worked for several business including Peninsula Press Atlantic Litho, Mail Well Graphics, Cenveo and Chesapeake Corporation. She enjoyed reading, making jewelry, and singing with Chorus of Dorchester. The family would like to thank Dorchester County EMS, Dorchester County Sheriff's Department, UMSMC at Easton, Shock Trauma, Corsica Hills Rehab. in Centreville and Compass Hospice for the care they provided to Wendy.
She is survived by her husband Woodrow W. Rue II of Cambridge, a son Woodrow W. Rue III and wife Brittany of Greensboro, MD, a brother Gary W. Middleton and wife Beverly of Cambridge, and a nephew Jamie O. Middleton and wife Cherie of Denton. Besides her parents, Wendy is preceded in death by her in laws Woodrow W. and Doris Jean Sheets Rue and her brother in law Warren Carlton Rue.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 18, 2025 at 1pm at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A in Cambridge with Rev. Mark Tooley officiating. Interment will follow at Old Trinity Churchyard. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions can be made to Corsica Hills Rehab Activity Department, 205 Armstrong St, Centreville, MD 21617, Compass Hospice, 255 Comet Drive, Centreville, MD 21617 or to a charity of choice.
