Willard J. "Jim" Linthicum

Willard James “Jim” Linthicum, Jr., 80, of Cambridge, MD, passed away on June 10, 2026 at Talbot Hospice House in Easton, MD. He was born January 5, 1946, in Woolford, MD, and was the son of the late Willard James Linthicum, Sr. and Mildred Dixon Linthicum.

Affectionately known as Jim, Pal, BJ, or Uncle Jimmy, he grew up in Woolford and graduated from Cambridge High School with the Class of 1964. For over 40 years, he worked as a pressman for Western Publishing, later known as MailWell Graphics, in Cambridge.

Mr. Linthicum was a lifetime member of Milton Church in Woolford, where he faithfully served in many roles, including church treasurer, trustee, Sunday School treasurer, and Sunday School teacher.

He was also a member of the Church Creek Volunteer Fire Company for many years.

Jim enjoyed keeping up with current events, going to auctions and decoy shows, listening to Christian music, watching televised sports, and, most importantly, spending time with his family. He will forever be known for giving the best hugs and ending every visit with his signature farewell, “Have a blessed day!” 

He is survived by his nephew, Gerald “Jerry” Bell, Jr. (Karen); his niece, Shelley Bell (Matt); his great-nephew, Andrew Bell; his great-niece, Sarah Bell; his great-grandnephews, Leo and Luke DiLuzio; and his beloved cat, Maxwell.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Linthicum was preceded in death by his beloved sisters, Patricia A. Linthicum and Shirley Linthicum Bell, as well as his special brother-in-law, Gerald “Jerry” Bell, Sr.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026 at 12pm at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge, with Rev. Chris Pettit officiating. Interment will follow at Old Trinity Churchyard. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
