Cindy Lee Collins, 67, of Huntsville, AL, passed away suddenly on September 2, 2022, at Huntsville Hospital, Huntsville, AL. Cindy was born on March 23, 1955, in Cambridge, MD, the daughter of Patricia Ann (Abbott) Collins and Emory Gilbert Collins, Jr. She was primarily raised by her beloved "mom-mom" and "pop-pop" Aleita and Alonza Abbott, in Toddville, MD. Cindy graduated from South Dorchester High School, class of 1973. She served honorably in the U.S. Army as a General's driver. Cindy also worked at Cain Security (Mt. Vernon, VA) as a service manager. She most recently worked at Burritt on the Mountain museum (Huntsville, AL) as a barnyard animal caretaker. For many who knew Cindy, this was her labor of love as she absolutely loved and adored all types of animals. Cindy is survived by her close friend, Lisa Mooney Sturm of Huntsville, AL; three brothers, Joey Collins and wife Mary Collins of Cambridge, MD, Jody Collins of DeLand, FL and Sonny James of Cambridge, MD; Aunt Connie Fisher of Ocean City, MD; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Cindy was preceded in death by her mother, Patricia (Abbott) Collins and father, Emory Gilbert Collins, Jr. Cindy loved to tend to her plants and take care of her house. She also took great pleasure in cooking and going to the market, a daily chore she always looked forward to. Cindy also enjoyed crafting works of art using nature's objects, such as feathers, rocks and sticks. Cindy will remain in the hearts of many surviving friends and family members, including her adored cat companions. Honoring Cindy's wishes, there will be no service and she will be cremated.
