Donald “Donnie” R. Creighton, 88, of Cambridge passed away on Friday, August 25, 2023 at UMSMC at Easton. He was born in Cambridge on March 29, 1935 and was a son of the late Russell B. Creighton and Madeline Richardson McNamara.
Mr. Creighton graduated from Cambridge High School class of 1953. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp and was honorably discharge at the Rank of Sergeant. Mr. Creighton worked and retired from Mullaney Insurance Company. On June 7, 2003 he married the former Patsy Abbott. He enjoyed traveling, an avid Orioles and Ravens fan, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and friends. Mr. Creighton was life member of the American Legion Post 91 where he served as past commander and was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife Patsy Creighton, two daughters Gina Hanlin and husband Carl and Lori Creighton, three grandchildren Kregory Tyler and wife Ashley, Dylan Tyler and wife Meagan, and Haylee Tyler Lamparter, six great granddaughters, a sister Cathi Bisker and husband Dudley, three stepchildren Bonnie Thomas, Patti Cannon and Husband David, and Todd Parks, and numerous step grandchildren and great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Kregory Tyler, Dylan Tyler, Carl Hanlin, David Cannon, Dudley Bisker, and Wes Thomas.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 1, 2023 at 11am at Immanuel United Church of Christ with Rev. Dale Krotee officiating. Interment will follow at Old Trinity Churchyard. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions can be made to Immanuel United Church of Christ, 5401 White Hall Road, Cambridge, MD 21613. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
