James W. "Dugar" Lauck, Sr.

James W. “Dugar” Lauck, Sr. 89, of Secretary passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2022 at TidalHealth Nanticoke. He was born in Secretary on February 14, 1933 and was the oldest of ten children born to the James W. Lauck, Sr. and Rosalee Willoughby Lauck.

Mr. Lauck attended school in Secretary. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. On September 10, 1955, he married the former Anita “Sugar” Bell. Mr. Lauck was a waterman his entire life. He was a member of American Legion Post #243 and Disabled American Veterans.

He is survived by his wife Anita “Sugar” Lauck, children Wayne Lauck and wife Sandy, Cathy Coughlin and husband Tom, Michael Lauck and wife Donna, Tina Maddox and husband Sonny and Yvonne Pritchett, 12 grandchildren Angie, Jordan, Kristen, Heather, Breanna, Mark, Joseph, Jimmy, Alyssa, Noel, James, and Thomas and 16 great grandchildren Landon, Lane, Jace, Lexi, Jake, Josh, Ayden, Averi, Riley, Jordan Mattie, Timmy, Harper, Jonah, Mark III, Stella, and Luca, like a daughter Judy Lauck, his siblings Chester, Loboy, Bill Hanks, Patsy, Helen Ruth, Lily Jane and Edie and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Mr. Lauck is preceded in death by a grandson Matthew, two brothers Al and Mickey and a special friend Jug Abey.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at 12:30 pm at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. Interment will follow at the Maryland Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
