Marvin J. "Buddy" Simmons, Jr.

Marvin J. “Buddy” Simmons, Jr., 78, of Cambridge passed away on Monday, July 30, 2018 at UMSMC at Easton. He was born in Cambridge on July 5, 1940 and was a son of the late Marvin J. Simmons, Sr. and Norma McGlaughlin Simmons.

Buddy attended school in Wingate. In 1964, he married the former Bonnie Burton. Mr. Simmons was a carpenter/mechanic. He enjoyed hunting and racing activities with his two sons. Buddy was a member of Souls Harbor Church of God.

He is survived by his wife Bonnie Simmons of Cambridge, two sons David Simmons and Drew Simmons both of Cambridge, a granddaughter Olivia (Cole) Simmons, a sister Shirley Adkins and husband Sam of Church Creek and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at 11 am at Dorchester Memorial Park with Rev. David Wooten, Jr. officiating. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
