Mildred V. (Hurley) North

Mildred V. North, 85, of Cambridge passed away on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at The Pines in Easton. She was born in Cambridge on April 28, 1936 and was a daughter of the late James R. and Hazel Langford Hurley.

She graduated from Cambridge High School class of 1956. Mildred married Dorsey Lee Hubbard in 1964. From this marriage a son was born Ricky Lee Hubbard. On September 10, 1982, she married Douglas W. “Turkle” North, who passed away on October 29, 2016. She worked at Ruby Saulsbury’s restaurant, Lif O Gen, Mail Well Graphics, White Oak Youth Academy, Glasgow Nursing Home, Dorset Laundry and Spicer’s Restaurant.

She is survived by a son Ricky Lee Hubbard, a brother Robert Hurley, Sr. and wife Brenda, nephews Robert Hurley, Jr. and wife Michelle and Danny Hurley and Jennifer, five great nephews, two-step daughters Marie Davis and Beverly Williams. Besides her parents and her husbands, Mrs. North is preceded in death by two brothers, Bill Hurley and Jimmy Hurley. A special thank-you goes out to family friend and neighbor Jamie Doehlert.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 20, 2021 at 2 pm at Spedden Seward Cemetery with Rev. Steve Bloodsworth officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Neck District Volunteer Fire Company, 954 Cooks Point Road, Cambridge, MD 21613 or to Baywater Animal Rescue, 4930 Bucktown Road, Cambridge, MD 21613. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
