Oneita E. (Hubbard) McCall

Oneita E. McCall, 106, of Cambridge passed away on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at the Dixon House in Easton. She was born and raised in Cambridge on September 17, 1910 and was a daughter of Olin and Ella Burton Hubbard.

Mrs. McCall attended schools in Cambridge. In September of 1928, she married John M. Bramble, Sr. who passed away on September 14, 1961. Together they operated Johnny’s Drive-In on Dorchester Avenue from 1938 to 1961. In August of 1964, she married Harry Mike McCall, who passed away on October 25, 1999. She was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, past president of the United Methodist Women and Mizpah Bible Class. Mrs. McCall was also a member of AARP and the Dorchester General Hospital Auxiliary.

She is survived by her son John M. Bramble, Jr. and wife Peggy of Cambridge, a step daughter Betty M. Malik and husband Kenneth of East New Market, a grandson John M. Bramble III and wife Vickie of Cambridge, two step grandsons Michael Turner of Stevensville and Charles Turner of Hurlock, a step granddaughter Laura Callaghan of Stevensville, two great granddaughters Erin King and husband Matthew and Allison Marshall and husband Scott, four step great grandchildren, and several great-great grandchildren.

Besides her parents and her husbands, Mrs. McCall is preceded in death by a sister Mary Hurley, a grandson Bruce A. Bramble, a niece Mary Lee Elzey and several cousins.

Pallbearers will be Matthew King, Scott Marshall, Charles Turner, Randall Bradshaw, Phil McKelvey and Ken Malik.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at 1 pm at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. Dale Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 205 Maryland Avenue, Cambridge, MD 21613.
