Ricky A. Shorter

Ricky A. Shorter, 67, of Cambridge passed away on Friday, December 18, 2020 at The Pines in Easton. He was born in Cambridge on January 9, 1953 and was a son of the late Howard Shorter, Jr. and Lorraine Burton Short.

Ricky graduated from Cambridge High School class of 1971. He worked for Tri Gas & Oil for many years and retired to spend more time with his family and friends. He enjoyed having cookouts with family, watching and coaching little league baseball. Ricky was an avid fan of the Washington Redskins and Baltimore Orioles.

He is survived by a daughter Michelle Googin and husband Nick of Odenton, MD, a son Ricky Shorter, Jr. and wife Crystal of Hurlock, MD, grandchildren Kellen Googin, Kylee Googin and Riley Shorter, brothers Luther Shorter and wife Sharon of Cambridge and Daniel Shorter and wife Gail of Easton and several nieces and nephews as well as longtime partner Tricia Lednum. Besides his parents, a brother Howard Shorter III precedes Mr. Shorter in death.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at 11am at Dorchester Memorial Park with Rev. Steve Bloodsworth officiating. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
