Robert K. Lloyd, 93, of Cambridge passed away on Sunday, November 7, 2021 at Candle Light Cove in Easton. He was born in Cambridge on January 20, 1928 and was a son of the late George Washington Lloyd and Naomi Lewis Lloyd.

Mr. Lloyd attended schools in Cambridge and graduated from Cambridge High School in 1945. He served in the US Army from 1946 until 1947. While in the Army, he had served in Guam. After he was discharged from the army he had worked at the DuPont in Seaford for three years. Mr. Lloyd then attended Goldey Beacom where he graduated in 1955. On January 20, 1955, he was married to the former Betty Reid Wilson. He had worked at the University Club in Wilmington, Delaware Beverage Co. in Wilmington, Memorial Hospital at Easton, Bob Spedden Ford in Cambridge and for 21 years worked as an Administrative Assistant to the Dorchester Co. Commissioners. Mr. Lloyd had also worked at Robbins Adams & Co. in Cambridge for over ten years. He was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Dorchester Post 91 American Legion, Choptank Memorial Post 7460 VFW, a member of the 29th Division Association Eastern Shore Post 88, and a honorary member of Rescue Fire Company. Mr. Lloyd enjoyed watching sports and traveling.

He is survived by his wife Betty Reid Lloyd of Cambridge, two daughters Cathy L. Weber and husband Chuck of Cambridge and Suzanne L. Hunteman of Cambridge one son John R. Lloyd of Cambridge, four grandchildren Charlotte E. Wagner and husband Ernie, Diana Weber, Laura Ferreira and husband Humberto, and Andrew Lloyd and wife Erica, three great grandchildren Carson, Ellie and Fiona. Besides his parents, Mr. Lloyd was preceded in death by a daughter Elizabeth Ann Lloyd.

Pallbearers will be Ben Parks, Bruce Hurley, John Genga, Andrew Lloyd, Humberto Ferreira, Ernie Wagner, and David L. Thomas, Jr.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 11am at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. Joe Kelly officiating. Interment will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, c/o Scott Daniels, 205 Maryland Avenue, Cambridge, MD 21613. Face mask will be requested.
