Thomas J. "Pete" Fairbanks, Jr.

Thomas J. “Pete” Fairbanks, Jr., 84, of Cambridge passed away on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at Mallard Bay Care Center. He was born in Trappe, MD on April 18, 1937 and was a son of the late Thomas J. Fairbanks, Sr. and Anna Fairbanks.

Mr. Fairbanks graduated from schools in Dorchester County. He served in the Army National Guard twice and later in the U.S. Army. On December 17, 1971, he married the former Diane Lewis. Mr. Fairbanks worked for Regina USA a number of years. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.

He is survived by his wife Diane Fairbanks of Cambridge, a son Robert Fairbanks of Cambridge, a step daughter Lisa Edgell and husband Dana of Federalsburg, four grandchildren Ryan Edgell (Jeanna), Casey O'Bier (Michael), Megan Fairbanks (Keegan) and Jenna Fairbanks, one great grandchild Liam O'Bier, and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Mr. Fairbanks is preceded in death by a brother Gene Arthur Fairbanks, and a sister Margaret Grabowski.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 23, 2021 at 1pm at the Maryland Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery Chapel with military honors. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
